Being as the pump is connected directly to the solar panel, the amount of sunlight hitting the panel directly affects the output of the pump, the brighter the sunlight, the better the performance. On overcast days you may find that the performance of the pump is significantly reduced.

For best results, mount the solar panel facing North and angled at 30 degrees. Also avoid mounting the panel in an area that is regularly covered by shade.
