Solar Shop Australia & Habitat
for Humanity Unite
Habitat for
Humanityʹs South Australian affiliate has joined forces
with Solar Shop Australia to make housing even more affordable for their partner
families. Thanks to the installation of a complete home solar system by Solar
Shop Australia, not only will Habitat for Humanity homes be better for the
environment, they will also be of benefit to Habitat for Humanityʹs partner families and their purse‐strings with the elimination of their
electricity bills.
Solar Shop Australia, an Adelaide based
organisation, will support HFHA by supplying a complete solar system to HFHA
homes being built in South Australia in 2008. This green initiative will provide
most of the power needs for the home and help the four families who will become
HFHA homeowners in South Australia this year, save money on their power bills
and make their home ownership even more affordable.
Speaking about the benefits of
this partnership to HFHA and its homeowner families, Scott Langford, Executive
Director, Habitat for Humanity Australia, said: ʺWe are thrilled to have the support of Solar Shop Australia.
Habitat for Humanity is committed to offering safe and affordable housing to its
partner families but itʹs great to now offer housing
that is also environmentally friendly and will reduce the cost of power for
low‐income families.ʺAdrian
Ferraretto, Director, Solar Shop Australia, said: ʺSolar
Shop Australia has been a long standing member of the community and is excited
to be able to contribute in such a direct way to make housing even more
affordable to these families.ʺ
