In a close-couple solar hot water system, heat from the sun goes directly from solar collectors into an adajcent storage tank on your roof. Water from the tank is then used to provide hot water to your property. |
Split System Solar Hot Water |

In comparison, a split-system solar hot water unit has two main components- solar collectors on your roof and a water storage tank on the ground. As the sun heats the solar collectors, heat is transfered to a water storage tank on the ground and water is sent from the stoarge tank into your home or business. |
